AN ACT CONCERNING NOTIFICATION TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ORGANIZATIONS REGARDING PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-904 of the general statutes be amended to require a hospital to notify, within forty-eight hours, the emergency medical services organization that transported or treated a patient who has been diagnosed with an infectious disease.
Statement of Purpose:
To expand the protections afforded to emergency medical services personnel who may have been exposed to a potentially life-threatening infectious disease.
