1		HOUSE RESOLUTION
2		WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3		Representatives are pleased to honor William "Bill" Oglesby,
4		Jr. on the occasion of being named "Pistolsmith of the Year"
5		for 2015 by the American Pistolsmiths Guild; and
6		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby is a fourth generation gunmaker from
7		Sangamon County; he is a graduate of several prestigious
8		gunsmithing schools and is a member of the American
9		Pistolsmiths Guild and the American Custom Gunmakers Guild; and
10		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby is a respected author, inventor, and
11		holder of several important gunmaking patents; and
12		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby has created custom pistols for such
13		notables as Clint Eastwood, Hank Williams, Jr., Steven Seagal,
14		Dennis Weaver, and many others; and
15		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby is a former world and national
16		shooting champion and a world-renowned exhibition shooter and
17		television personality who has been the subject of several
18		shooting exhibition documentaries on the History Channel and
19		elsewhere; and
20		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby is a Lifetime Member, Regulator, and

1		former Territorial Governor of the Single Action Shooting
2		Society; and
3		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby is an "Ask The Experts" staff member
4		of Shooting Times Magazine and a member of the staff of
5		American Handgunner Magazine; and
6		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby is a lifetime member of the Amateur
7		Trapshooting Association, a Diamond Level member of the Front
8		Sight Shooting Academy, and a participant in Charlton Heston's
9		Celebrity Shoot; and
10		WHEREAS, Bill Oglesby has been a gunmaker for the Hollywood
11		Golden Boot Awards and a gunmaker for the Silver Spur Awards;
12		therefore, be it
13		RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14		NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15		congratulate William "Bill" Oglesby, Jr. on the occasion of
16		being named "Pistolsmith of the Year" for 2015 by the American
17		Pistolsmiths Guild and wish him success in all of his future
18		endeavors; and be it further
19		RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20		presented to Bill Oglesby as a symbol of our esteem and
21		respect.
